Sensei E Fraser (6th Dan) .
Chief Instructor at Pennywell Honto Shin Karate Club (formerly known as Pennywell Yoshino) since 1983.
Sensei Fraser started karate in 1979 and passed her Shodan in 1984, Nidan in 1985 , Sandan in 1988 , Yondan in 1994 and Godan in 2000. She has trained with many great instructors and has competed in karate both nationally and internationally with outstanding success. Having retired from competition some years ago with an outstanding record of wins, she recently entered a competition (2008) at the age of 64 and was placed 3rd in Senior Team Kata. She has guided many of her students in competiton and towards their grades and the amount of wins and passes that they have had over the years speaks volumes of her teaching ability. She is a fully qualified instructor, karate referee and B.A.S.K.A Grading examiner and is currently a senior member of the British All Styles Karate Associations Technical Commitee.
She now continues to run the Pennywell Honto Shin Karate Club passing on her knowledge to her students ,always pushing them to display their best karate at all times hoping that someday they will achieve the same feat.
On the 25th July 2008 Sensei Fraser was awarded her 6th Dan black belt by BASKA for her hard work and dedication, over 30 years of training in karate.
Sensei Andy Nesbitt (3rd Dan)
Instructor at Pennywell Honto Shin Karate Club
Andy started training at Pennywell Honto Shin in the summer of 1998 with Sensei E Fraser. He passed his first grade shortly after in October 1998. From there he has climbed through the grades and passed his Shodan at the age of 16 in April 2002 , and his Nidan at the age of 19 in March 2005 under the examination of Sensei Mike Dobson 7th Dan and Sensei E fraser 6th Dan. He has trained on courses with various instructors. He has a true passion for Karate and always pushes himself to the limit and beyond in whatever he is doing. Having competed in karate at various venues under the guidance of his instructor, Sensei Fraser he has won competitons in both kata and kumite. He is a dedicated member of the club with over 12 years experience training in karate . On 28 June 2009 Andy passed his 3rd dan black belt
and now assists Sensei Fraser in the running of the club and ensures that the high standards taught by her are always displayed by all students.
Sempai Adam Foster (1st Dan)
Senior Black Belt at Pennywell Honto Shin Karate Club.
Adam has been training at the club since January 2000 at the age of 9. He passed his first grade in May 2000 and went on through the grades to pass his Shodan in March 2005 under examintion of Sensei Dobson and Sensei Fraser. He has achieved many things in karate and was one year presented a student of the year award. He too has entered and been successful at many competitions in both kata and kumite and really enjoys being part of the club. Adam is now training hard towards his next grading which will be his 2nd Dan black belt under the tuition of Sensei Fraser .
He is occasionally involved in teaching new starters at the club in between his training sessions and is an irreplacable member of the club, with a great deal of enthusiam and passion for karate.
